Tactical Solution for CBRN Incidents

CBRN incidents manifest either through the observation and reporting of the incident or through contamination measurement data received from detection systems. Early detection of CBRN hazards is essential for timely alerting of human populations in affected areas and for determining the type and intensity of CBRN agents and the boundaries of contaminated areas.

The primary elements supporting the Detection, İdentification, And Monitoring (DIM) components are the CBRN sensors and detectors used by CBRN reconnaissance units. Today, CBRN sensors and detectors can operate in an integrated manner by personnel on foot in CBRN reconnaissance units, on CBRN reconnaissance vehicles, and on autonomous Unmanned Aerial or Ground Vehicles.

 

The DIM capabilities, which are the fundamental tools of CBRN reconnaissance activities, enable the characterization, analysis, and identification of CBRN hazards. These capabilities allow for the identification of contaminated areas and monitoring changes over time. Detection, diagnosis, and monitoring capabilities also contribute to the CBRN layer of the Current Operational Picture.

For instance, let’s assume you have vehicles equipped with various types and brands of CBRN detection and identification systems capable of CBRN reconnaissance. The sensors and detectors in these vehicles will generate a large amount of CBRN data. In this context, there will be a need for automation to manage and process the large volume of measurement data.

Furthermore the CBRN reconnaissance personel needto share measurement data information with the superior and neighbouring units via basic CBRN report according to NATO standarts.

Additionally, during reconnaissance activities, it will also be necessary to manage the samples taken from contaminated areas and the information regarding the marking of the contaminated area.
